Drew Brees

I'm watching Drew Brees playing and thinking longingly back to 2006 when the Dolphins stupidly passed on this guy.

They have had success in the decade since. The Dolphins? Not so much

Since then we've seen:
Joey Harrington
Daunte Culpepper
John Beck
Cleo Lemon
Trent Green
Both Chads (you know the hanging one and the pregnant one - probably a bad election joke!)
Tyler Thigpen
Matt Moore
And of course the current guy (Turd McFerguson)

And all of them. ALL of them. Have sucked.

And to think we coulda had Brees. Screw you Nick Saban and everyone since who couldn't even be handed a good QB.

Come on Ray! Pennington was good for one year.

Turd mcferguson? Check Bree's first three or four year stats when he was in San Diego before Phil rivers got drafted. .....yeah I thought so. Worse than Tannyhill. Try again....you failed.

Ray, let me dumb it down for you, Bree's didn't thrive until he went to a good coaching scenario, Sean Payton is a great offensive mind. Could Tannyhill improve? Sure , he needs better pocket awareness, and protection. But stop with your whiny gloom and doom , give Gase tutelage of our qb a chance. Bree's would be injured and out of the league if he played for the traitor Saban and mouth breathing Cameron and Philbin. Learn football or take up porn.

Yeah Dave. Okay. Pennington is an exception. But he came here because of a brain fart by the jets and was only healthy for one year, so not much to draw on.

Kelly - stats are nice, but they're ultimately meaningless. Lets look at the w-l in their first four years:

Brees
8-8
4-12
12-4
9-7

Turd mcferguson
7-9
8-8
8-8
6-10

Edge-brees

Now lets look at 4th quarter comebacks in those first 4 years
Brees 9 (yes nine!)
Turd 0

Bada Bing! Bree's is the better QB. Case closed.

That is nonsense. We did not "pass" on Drew Breeze. He didn't want to come here. Ask his agent. Who cares about these non-DOLPHIN stories. Ray stick to kicking stories or at least get your story right. By the way, Cody Parkey said the laces were in too.

Nice spin Ray, but Bree's was run out of San Diego on a rail, and you saw what he did under a real organization. If he had come to Miami, he would be in a medical ward with multiple fractures. Tannyhill is a tough sob, and will succeed if given time under a competent coaching structure. I think we have that now. If you can tell me Bree's would still be healthy under the idiots we had running the team up to now, with a straight face ....be honest ....I will agree with you.

W-l records are team stats, we are talking about qb.....right? Does tannehill play defense? No......so using your win loss stats , and considering Tannyhill is the most sacked qb in the league, yeah, you kind of make my point. He is not a he problem.

avatar

Let's be clear too Ray,we are talking about the first four years...not career. Listen...think...compare...

avatar

That's 9 comebacks in 4 years.

And I stand behind it being sabans decision. Brees wanted to be in Miami.

But you are right that he wouldn't have had success here because there's a QB curse on this team. No one can succeed here. But it's fun to speculate what could have been.

(Those first 4 in San Diego)

Yes, San Diego....I didn't stutter. If they held on to Bree's and had a good oraganization there, Bree's would have blossomed....in San Diego ....get it now? Patience grasshopper.

Ray, seriously dude. Since Marino, Pennington and Tannehill are the only good QBs. Marino was one of a kind. I am not a huge Tannehill fan, but he is hardly the problem. I trust our coaching staff. THEY don't feel Tanny is a problem. Get over your hatred. The number of his late 4th quarter successful drives is huge. Our defense keeps giving up 2 minute touchdowns. I would say the defense has been the curse. Let it go dude

Fail Ray Fail Fail Fail Lace out

I think the decision between Brees and Culpepper came down to bad knee trumping bad shoulder.

Brees shoulder was a question mark at the time.

the fact you think tannehill has 0 4th qtr comebacks is laughable

avatar

by the way since we're talking wins, how did the saints do last night? what's their record?
