Carrying on Sherrif Gase:

I thought that was what Gase was trying to do. Model the team after the coaching style of Bilichick. Again, I do not keep up on every tid-bit the media has to say so my opinions can often be...from Mars, or unintentionally verbatim.
Possibly all has healed from the pre San Diego game clusterxxxx involving LB Timmons.?.?  When I heard/read about it, and then continued to read about the "no comment," I considered what was at stake for Timmons. I couldn't help but think this issue would continue on.  Whether it's reported over & done with, subconsciously things can often remain.  And not just with Timmons.
As for studying the playbook, I will NEVER understand that to be an issue on any team. We hear about the majority of these players being standouts from pee-wee fb. They continue playing thru middle school, high school, & college. We've all heard about some players not going to classes, not having good enough grades, etc. Times have become more strict, but still many or most have FB first on their minds.

It is their love, their bacon for the time being. I would think it would be like reading about something you love and already know a good deal about.  Are they so confident they actually think they know it all?  If anything they should know that that is not POSSIBLE!!

K, hoping the Dolphins escape the doldrums and go full sails. Raiders are coming in desperate, underachieving. Curious to see if Gase's message has sunk in.

I don't know that Gase is modeling anyone. He believes n himself and knows where he wants to take the team and knows that some players aren't buying in and doing what they are supposed to be doing. By that I mean knowing and doing their assignments for any given play. When a player doesn't do what he is supposed to do it can bust an entire play and kill a drive. According to Gase that is what some of the problem is. Ajayi wasn't running to where he was supposed to and just taking the yards he could get. He was trying to hit a home run and he's not the only one doing this. Thereby he missed the short gains he could have had and ended up losing yards. He also missed his blocking assignments (Williams has been missing too.) But even worse was his locker room complaining that he didn't get enough touches even after wins. Then arguing and being combative with coaches. These are things that get you traded. I don't think Landry is acting as bad but he needs to get his head right or we will be gone this year too. Gase only wants players who want to be here and will fight for the team with unselfish play. His coaching style may resemble Belichick and some other great coaches but I'm convinced he is being 100% himself and not trying to model someone else.

Players not studying the playbook don’t deserve to make hundreds of thousands up to millions of dollars a year to play a game. They should do something else. It’s asinine

We finally have a coach that takes out the garbage, how refreshing.
