Play

Very happy new year to all!!!  Here we are sitting as the 6th seed going into the playoffs for the first time in 8 years, people ask me if the Dolphins actually deserve or are good enough or worthy of the playoff spot they got, well the answer is a resounding yes they are worthy of the playoff spot they got because a playoff spot is not given it is earned and the Fins did just that.

So they lost to the Brady Bunch, maybe we aren't as good as the Pats, but we are as good as Pittsburgh or Houston if not better, and I'll say this the game against the Patriots wouldn't have mattered regardless of outcome and they didn't get our best shot. Now when we hit Pittsburgh that will be with everything on the line.
I am expecting a great game may or may not be pretty but it's going to be mano a mano (hand to hand combat) between to teams that know it's win or watch from the couch like the rest of us.

Here is something else, I did not like the hit on tony Lippett,  he was completely defenseless. It may be legal but if you hit a defenseless receiver you get a flag and it to me doesn't seem right. That hit could've hurt Lippett on the verge of the playoffs. Good cheering for this game Dolphin's fans let's see if we can make some noise.

The blocker came from in front of the chasing Lippet. Had Lippet been running across the field and the blocker come from an angle out of his vision path then you could have contacting a defenseless player.

That block, as devastating as it was, was a legal block in my opinion.

Lippet the should've dove about 5-10 yards sooner. Nobody dives into the runners legs anymore.

A high class player knows that there is an unwritten rule that you never take advantage of a player that way. A simple push would have yield the same results. You usually do not have to clobber another athlete that way. I do not know of any player who lands that kind of "legal" hit and receive praise from other high class athletes. That kind of hit usually leaves decent athletes feeling guilty afterwards because they smashed an athlete who had no time to brace themselves. When you strike someone in the face without warning; it is called a sucker punch; which means that you cheated!

Landry did the same thing to Bills Safety. Doesn't matter, Lippett showed his toughness. I hope you're right and we stick it to Pittsburgh again. Big Ben Rapelisberger plays much better at home though. At least we're competing now!

The dolphins held back on the cheaters. I believe that we will defeat the Steelers again; just as we did the Jets and the gas Bills in the dead of winter and in their own house.

Landry is a beast. He is tough as nails.

It's football Dave. Those guys know the risks and they love it.

Thank God nobody got hurt. Including the blocker. Next Pats game though, somebody may get some pay back. Good for the rivalry.

I am so proud of this team. They never quit on each otheroom. The have made next man up mean something. The Patriots knew it too. If Williams wasn't stripped of the ball at the Patriots 5 yard line, a good play by the corner, as I do not fault Williams as he was trying to score, the game was going to be very very interesting. The patriots, are overconfident and will not be able to overcome a bad game by Brady. He is the,all and end all for them. BTW Blount is a classless individual who gave up on his last team and suckered punched a player in college. If things go bad he will show his true colors however winning, due to Brady not him cures his attitude.

Carl you are right on the payback. That is why you should not make a blindside hit like that. Everyone knows that it a cheap shot.

I'm so happy to say that I'm very proud of our team (whew) It's been a long time. I think the key is to not start flat and keep our defense off the field with some long productive drives and the OL needs to make holes for our backs. WE do that and no turnovers we're a winner.

Carl- where are you in Jersey? I'm down the shore.

It wasn't blind side. It came from in front. Lippet didn't suddenly turn into the block.

Add score 30 points. They will get their TDs

Hillsborough in Somerset County

I believe it was a legal (if un-necessarily rough) hit... but was the same kind of hit Landry gave that Bills player from earlier this season, and Landry caught all kinds of heck for it. Just want to see the refs/fining committee be consistent.

How do players like Michael Floyd keep falling in their laps.He was a stud for the fighting Irish.

Phil,
I agree. He gets a DUI and his "punishment" is to be cut by a team with a losing record and picked up by the favorite to win the SB. WTF?
