Dolphins Loss Hurts, But It's Not All Lost.

Ok, so we are back to looking in from the outside at the play-offs, We're experiencing that same feeling that makes us sick to our stomach thanks to a Ravens team that absolutely brought down the house of Dolphins dreams and hopes for this season's play-offs, not that it can't happen, but it just became a lot harder because the blue print is out on what to do against the Dolphins and every team we play will try to use it, hopefully we can adjust but the damage is great and the fact that we can't cover the middle of the field is obvious.

When I say all is not lost I mean look at the big picture we knew the Dolphins aren't a great team before the streak, but coaching and change of culture gave us a direction and though we don't have the talent at some key positions (O-line linebacker, corner, safety) to be a solid play-off contender, we have a good coaching staff and direction, the fact is our draft picks are starting to make a difference and our system is going to work for us once we have the right players on the roster.

The next couple seasons are where we become that team nobody wants to play, that team that has enough firepower to be a real play-off contender and a real contender for the AFC East.

One last thing to remember is that in the next year or to Tom Brady will begin his inevitable decline and we have the second best QB in this division ( not that I'm totally sold on Tannehill ) but we have better QB play than the Jets or the Bills.

Mike you are wrong; all is lost. I will tell you why. Someone said something that alienated the players against the coaches and each other. It appears that what was said will take more than one week to recover form. I believe that it was brought on by the players being overworked preparation for the Ravens games. Because I have never seen the defense play so poorly. I don't know if it was Joseph, Gase or someone else. But someone said something very damaging to the morale of the team and it showed big-time Sunday.
This happens sometimes. A coach says something that cut the players deeply and they just cannot muster any fire to play. Usually when this happens; it destroys the entire season. Another AFC coach who use to be an NFC coach made this same mistake. He said something to the players that devastated the whole team and costed that coach his job and the season. It happened in the 3rd week of the season; and the players never recovered. So now either the guilty party will apologize or the guilty party will try to bully the players into performing. The longer the apology takes to come; the less chance there will be for an acceptance and speedy healing. At this point; it is unlikely that either route will yield the desired results. We will see Sunday. But if I am correct; it spells no playoffs this season.

David, wtf are you talking about? Are you delusional?

Mike, i like your optimism but i'm feeling that same old Dolphins kind of feeling right now. December is here and they can't seem to pull out a win. Feels like the last 15 years....

Dave: "Someone said something...." Really??? That is what you're bringing here?

Still in the hunt, but you have to come to play. We looked flatter than a pancake.

The Ravens won't be in the playoffs. They still play the Patriots, Steelers, and Bengals (who are looking much better) on the road. They'll lose at least 2 of those. They have the Eagles at home, which they should beat, but they aren't going to win more than 2 more. Aint happenin.

So 9-7 at best for the Ravens. They aren't even a threat to our playoff hopes. The biggest threat comes from the AFC West. Our best shot to make it is to beat out the Broncos, who I predict will end up 10-6. That means we have to also end up 10-6, which is definitely possible. Of course, at this point, if that happens, the Broncos are in and we are out unless our only remaining loss happens THIS WEEK.

If we lose this week to an NFC team and then win out and go 10-6, we would beat out the Broncos with a better conference record if they also go 10-6. But if both go 10-6 and our 6th loss is to anyone other than AZ, we're done.

The Broncos have a much tougher schedule from here on out, so it's still possible. But only if this past Sunday was really just a bad game for us and we can bounce back.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll be cheering for the Patriots for the next 2 weeks.

ANNNNNNNNNDDDD.....I just threw up in my mouth.

Don't drown in a cup of water, I have seen them win and lose for thirty years what matters is the direction we are trying to go.

You must know something I don't, but I stand by my thoughts on the Dolphins.

Lol. So true.

The key for us is the Broncos. They gotta lose 2 of 4 left.
