Is Tannehill The Man In Miami

Someone called me out on Tannehill, I had lost faith in him, I didn't see him as a good QB in my honest opinion I believed the last couple drafts we should have drafted one QB early and give a fresh kid a chance to knock Tannehill off or not, the competition would have made them both better or at least bring out the competitors in them.

I love the Fins and I pay attention to games and I'm not blind to game tape and I'm very happy to see Tannehill coming into his own. Tannehill is maturing as a leader his always been tough and the biggest problem he had was the long ball and to his credit he fix that issue, his making better desitions getting them out of bad plays not throwing pics. If

Give plenty of credit to O-line play and the running game, but also I think the one major issue with him got taken care of this off season and that is ding, ding, ding, ding a coach unlike any he ever had before one that can get the best out of him, mold him into at least a good above average QB maybe a great one(I hope) but anyway let's see what happens there's a lot of football to be played and he has still a lot he can improve on if he wants a great career.

This is were I would love to be wrong, if he is the man great, but if not next year who wants to pay someone who is not that good something 18 or 19 million. There is only a minor salary cap hit if he is released. So yeah he has to prove it these next 7 games.

Please proof before you post.. That was hard to read.

He has to show that he can be clutch for the rest of the season. The main reason for his success over the past few weeks has been his new found ability to escape sacks. Can he become elusive on a consistent basis? Coach Gase must continue to emphasize this development.

Tannehill did two things in the last game that he usually does not do. He contributed to points for the team and he did not blow the game in the final 5 minutes like he has done for 4 previous years.
However in order to be a good QB; one has to win games in the clutch and he has to perform well even if the OL is not doing a great job.
All good QBs compensate when the OL is not up to par. Marino, Elway, Montana, Kelly, Brady; all of which are pocket passers.

Could he be improving?

He has been throwing the ball very well.

They are not going to release Tanne-Hype unless he gets caught smoking pot with 16 year olds while beating his wife with a deflated football.

It's important to remember that Tannehill didn't get a lot of experience playing QB in college. Next, ask yourself how many offensive coordinators has he been through? He has gotten better every single year. This last game was his best game he has had thus far as our QB in my humble opinion. Give the kid a chance. See what a difference a running game and some time in the pocket can do? I think he is only going to get better, just like this TEAM has gotten better. It's a TEAM game, not a QB game. I don't think he could have played any better in this last game.

The touch passes I have seen him make, his timing has been perfect and that has been there from day one. Even his long ball when the receiver actually made an effort or he actually had the time to wait for a down field pass. Going into this year, and seeing he was only a couple hundred yard behind Marino at this point in his career and now seeing he is 27th in NFL history in lifetime quarterback rating, for me was icing on the cake. The only thing that has changed since Tannehill has come into the league is a real and healthy OL and a real head coach.

Yes I could have caved in my support for him when things were going bad BUT I also knew how difficult it is to get a real all pro quarterback...Just ask the jets who have been looking since 1969

If you still have doubts check out the Media darling Andrew luck who is exactly point three percentage points away from Tannehill's QBR the only thing that has changed with luck is he seems to be playing on the 2014 Miami dolphins roster.

Blowing games?... I recall him leading a hand full of drives late in the 4th quarter of games to put this team ahead for the win... the defense couldn't sal the deal.. did the same vs NE & SEA this year...

The best quality Tanbe-Hype displays is his toughness. This kid can take a hit. He has been fearlessly standing in there and making throws knowing full well he is about to get crushed.

He also has a tremendous amount of arm strength. On the bomb to Parker with 4 minutes left, he barely was able to follow through on that throw and he still got it down the field.

Carl Leone...Tannehill is good enough...I've always said that on here and I've given my reasons...We could have done better but we are stuck with him...and the guy is making plays...he doesn't get enough credit..he was booed off the field at home earlier this year...that's a hard pill to swallow and remain confident.despite all the haters he is balling out...he is making plays..not just managing games...look at those darts he threw this past sunday...and let's not forget the game winning drive on the road in Seattle when he gave us the lead only for our struggling Defense to lose the game and...eh hem...Kenny Stills...we are winning because of Tannehill..not in spite...time to take the tanne"hype" down...it's stupid...

avatar

and i say that with respect Carl lol...I just hate the tanne"hype" designation...I've always liked the kid...

avatar

Carl, you are an ass. Stop disrespecting our QB. It is shameful.

avatar

I like the kid. I have a vested interest as well, owning three of his jerseys.

The Hype started earlier this season and it may be time to remove it. I'll let you know in a week by week basis.

avatar

Wow. That's mean spirited for a fellow contributor. I may not agree with everything anyone else posts but I would never get personal.

avatar

Absolutely toughness is his best attribute. And he is getting better.

avatar

Be cool man, we all have opinions and you have yours but respect is just as important.

There is David Apollos what a surprise he still thinks Tanehill sucks in spite of recent evidence to the contrary.
